Narrow-Band Optical Filter with Stabilized Gain

Abstract

In an optical transmission filter for λ ≈ 1088nm, based on a ring resonator with FSR Δf = 42MHz, the loss is compensated by a Nd3+ doped fiber amplifier. The roundtrip power gain in the pass-band of the filter is stabilized by clamping it to the gain of a laser oscillation on a neighboring band. The filter has two significant pass-bands 10 ... 35kHz wide.
