Multicore Erbium-doped Fiber Amplifier for Space Division Multiplexed Systems

Abstract

We present numerical simulation and experiments on 7-core fiber erbium-doped fiber amplifier, both core- and cladding-pumped, developed for amplifying space division multiplexed signals. Designing of a few-mode multicore cladding pump amplifier will also be shown.
