Spectrum Fragmentation Analysis in a Two-Rate Elastic Optical Link

Abstract

This paper presents an analytical approximation model for estimating the blocking probability in a two-rate spectrum-elastic optical fiber link. Oscillations of the blocking probability are observed for the first time and quantified.
