Collagen in Lentiginous Melanoma Characterized with Polarimetric Second-Harmonic Generation Microscopy

Abstract

Polarimetric second-harmonic generation (SHG) microscopy analysis of cancerous and normal tissues revealed the differences in SHG intensity, achiral susceptibility ratio and fiber orientation distribution suggesting an altered collagen structure.
