Abstract

We showed that imaging performance of microsphere-assisted microscopy technique is influenced by the index of the background medium surrounding the microspheres. Our results provide further evidence for the connection between focusing and imaging properties of the microspheres and establish a robust platform for design optimization of microsphere-embedded devices for super-resolution microscopy.
