Theory of Photoionization-induced Nonlinear Phenomena in Gas-filled Photonic Crystal Fibers

Abstract

Based on a recently developed model that is able to describe pulse propagation in gas-filled hollow-core PCFs, we show that the photoionization process can lead to soliton self-frequency blue-shift, self-phase modulation, and modulation instability.
