Soliton Pulse Delivery and Compression Using Hollow-Core Photonic Bandgap Fibers

Abstract

We report applications of hollow-core photonic bandgap fibers for ultrashort pulse delivery and compression. Two effects have been investigated: evolution of strongly chirped input pulses into ultrashort solitons, and adiabatic pulse compression using tapered fibers.
