Abstract

We investigate the effects of fabrication parameters on the optical properties of hybrid carbon metal flakes. We use a microscopic Müller matrix measurement technique to experimentally investigate different samples of carbon flakes. In all cases studied, the self-assembled metamaterial exhibited strong linear birefringence in the visible spectral range, while attenuation was found to be dependent on supra molecular complex density.
