Highly Nonlinear Silicate Optical Fiber With High Intrinsic SBS Threshold

Abstract

We report on the development of a highly nonlinear yttrium aluminosilicate optical fiber with intrinsically high SBS threshold. Large-scale SBS suppression is achieved through a combination of judicious waveguide design and material selection.
