Scaling of Optical Forces with Material Response and Nanoscale Geometry

Abstract

We develop scaling laws which explore the parameters that strongly impact optical forces in nanoscale guided-wave systems and demonstrate their application to device design. These analytical results also provide a benchmark for numerical simulations.
