Self-similar propagation of optical pulses in fiber amplifiers with positive even-order dispersion

Abstract

Similariton exists in an amplified nonlinear Schrӧdinger equation (NLSE) with positive 2nd-order or 4th-order dispersion. We make further generalization and show that similariton can exist for a positive, arbitrary even-order dispersion.
