Thermo-optical Nonlinear Behaviors in Silicon Microring Resonator Integrated with Carrier Control PN Junction

Abstract

Thermo-optical bistability and self-pulsation in silicon microring resonator are demonstrated. The frequency of self-pulsation can be controlled by light power and wavelength, and the oscillation can be switched off by applying a reverse voltage on the integrated PN junction.
