The role of mean-field theory and pump mechanisms in the nonlinear emission of a quantum dot laser

Abstract

Nonlinear phenomena of quantum-dot lasers under the mean-field approximation are well-known, but pump mechanisms actually seem to determine this behavior. Here is discussed the emission spectrum and dynamics by considering either incoherent or coherent pumping.
