SiO2-Al2O3-La2O3 Glass - a Superior Medium for Optical Kerr Gating at Moderate Pump Intensity

Abstract

Novel SiO2-Al2O3-La2O3 glass shows a switching efficiency η ≤ 70 % in τ = 140 fs for dual wavelengths optical Kerr gating at 1 TW/cm2 and is compared to other Kerr materials with larger n2.
