Demonstration of second-harmonic generation by 4 ¯-quasi-phasematching in a GaAs microdisk cavity

Abstract

We experimentally observe efficient second-harmonic generation in a microdisk cavity utilizing 4¯-quasi-phasematching. With a resonantly enhanced fundamental wave, we observed (5.2 ± 0.4) × 105/mW conversion efficiency in a GaAs microdisk.
