Impact of Photoelastic Effect on Phase-Matching Wavelengths in Periodically-Inverted AlGaAs Waveguides

Abstract

We have shown that photoelastic effect alters the phase-matching wavelengths of Type-I and Type-II quasi-phase-matched second-harmonic generation in a periodically-inverted AlGaAs waveguide through the uniaxial strain in the pseudomorphic AlGaAs layers.
