Abstract

A method for producing non-uniformly spaced (chirped) trains of ultrafast pulses is demonstrated, using an acousto-optic programmable dispersive filter (AOPDF). Programmable pulse trains of this type may find applications in quasi-phase matching of high-harmonic generation.
