Optical frequency comb generation from a monolithic micro-resonator via the Kerr nonlinearity

Abstract

It is shown that the cascaded optical sidebands generated via optical parametric oscillations in a monolithic microcavity are equidistant down to a resolution bandwidth limited level of 2 kHz, thus constituting an optical frequency comb [7].
