Abstract

Backward quasi-phase-matched second harmonic generation (BQPM-SHG) has been investigated in semiconductor/dielectric periodic multilayer structures. Large enhancement of second harmonic generation is realized by optimizing the density of mode for fundamental and second harmonic light frequencies.
