Abstract

We quantify collision-induced timing jitter (CITJ) in quasi-linear dispersion-managed systems with periodic-group-delay(PGD) dispersion-compensating modules. Significant reductions of CITJ are achieved when even moderate fractions of the total dispersion are compensated by PGDs.
