Optical nonlinearity of the cadmium chalcogenide nanomaterials

Abstract

The large third-order susceptibility of CdTe nanoparticles doped in polymer were measured with the Z-scan technique. The quantum confinement and the surface trapped state effects are the possible origins of the enhancement of optical nonlinearity.
