Transverse Response of Cavity Systems

Abstract

We show that plane-mirror optical cavities (linear and nonlinear) can convert spatially phase (amplitude) modulated input beams into amplitude (phase) modulated outputs. The effect occurs for only one sign of the effective cavity detuning.
