Information transfer through photorefractive spatial solitons in the telecommunication wavelength range

Abstract

Photorefractive spatial solitons are attractive elements, because they can be used as controllable optical interconnectors for all-optical devices. According to our knowledge, we demonstrated for the first time the ability to transmit information through a soliton with the speed of at least 88.44 Tbits/s.
