Stability of vortex solitons in a 2D photorefractive optical lattice

Abstract

Stability of off-site vortex solitons in a 2D photorefractive optical lattice is analyzed. It is shown that such solitons are linearly unstable in both the high and low intensity regimes, but are stable in the moderate-intensity regime.
