Observation of multi-gap vector solitons

Abstract

We study experimentally the incoherent, interaction of optical solitons excited in different gaps of the transmission spectrum of a periodic photonic structure. For the first time to our knowledge, we observe the mutual focusing of different Floquet-Bloch modes and formation of a multi-gap vector optical soliton.
