Nonlinear transmission of sub-picosecond 1.5 μm pulses through single-mode silicon-on-insulator ridge waveguides

Abstract

Gratings are used to efficiently couple ~100 fs, 1.5 μm pulses into and out of singlemode silicon ridge waveguides of various lengths up to 600 μm. Nonlinear transmission spectra are reported and interpreted.
