Observation of the gap soliton in a dynamic Bragg grating

Abstract

We report the first experimental observation of a stationary gap soliton within the bandgap of a periodic grating. This observation has been made possible thanks to the use of a dynamic optically-induced grating in a dispersion-shifted fiber.
