Optical Components and Circuits in Photonic Crystals

Abstract

The use of photonic crystals, a periodic dielectric materials, has led to important possibilities for novel optical components and circuits. In this talk, I will review some of these possibilities. We shall also consider the minimization of radiation losses in structures without complete photonic bandgap.
