Coherent Effects in Bragg Reflectors: Light Localization and Oscillating Solitary Waves near Absorption Resonance

Abstract

We show that both the Dicke superradiance and pulse amplification in near-resonance Bragg structure can produce light localization in the bandgap of such structures. This localization is accompanied by formation of a principally new type of gap soliton.
