Dynamical Properties of 2D Kerr Cavity Solitons

Abstract

We show that two-dimensional Kerr cavity solitons may be stable, Hopf unstable, or unstable to azimuthal perturbations leading to pattern formation. The Hopf oscillation is surprisingly robust, due to the lower-branch soliton’s influence.
