FTTdp: Complementing FTTH in Difficult Areas

Abstract

In this paper we describe FTTdp (fiber to the distribution point), which delivers “fiber-like” service rates over the existing copper drop wire infrastructure. FTTdp complements FTTH by avoiding the fiber drop cost in difficult areas.
