3.5 W optical power delivery over 5 km single-mode fiber using C-band amplified spontaneous emission light source

Abstract

We demonstrated the power-delivery limit of single-mode fiber. By using a C-band ASE light source to suppress the stimulated Brillouin scattering, we delivered 3.5 W of optical power over a 5 km-long fiber.
