20Gb/s Hybrid TDM/WDM PONs with 512-Split Using Self-Seeded Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

Abstract

Hybrid TDM/WDM PON using self-seeded reflective semiconductor optical amplifiers is proposed for high-capacity and large-splitting access services. Experimental results demonstrate a 512-split hybrid PON with aggregated upstream capacity of 20 Gb/s.
