Optical Path Restoration for Up to Two Failures Using Preconfigured Cycles

Abstract

We describe a method for designing path protection for single- and multiple-wavelength optical demands surviving up to two failures. Preconfigured cycles cost-effectively provide immediate restoration without intermediate switching or wavelength conversion.
