Abstract

We have investigated optical filtering-effects when a spectrally- sliced ASE light is injected to a gain-saturated R-SOA. The resulting distortion in the output optical spectrum from an optical pass-band shape of AWG could significantly affect the transmission quality of the WDM-PON.
