Demonstration of Fast Optical Protection in ROADM system with One-chip Color/direction-independent Add/drop Multiplexer Employing Silicon Photonic Circuit

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrated wavelength path and transponder fault recovery in ROADM system with one-chip color/direction-independent add/drop multiplexers employing silicon photonic circuit. Fault recovery time of less than 50ms was achieved for both fault cases.
