Abstract
We propose and demonstrate a novel chromatic dispersion monitoring technique using frequency-modulated and amplitude-modulated pilot tones. Unlike the conventional pilot-tone-based monitoring techniques, the proposed technique could discriminate the sign of accumulated dispersion.
