Linearity and Ultra-Linearization of Ring Resonator Based Modulators for Sub-Octave Bandpass Analog Optical Links

Abstract

The linearity of a ring resonator based modulator is experimentally studied. From the experimental transfer function, the intermodulation-free dynamic range is predicted to be 123 dBHz4/5. A scheme to obtain ultra-high linearity is proposed.
