Phase-Preservation Capability of All-Optical Amplitude Regenerators Using Fiber Nonlinearity

Abstract

Phase preservation by all-optical amplitude regenerators using fiber nonlinearity is experimentally examined. It is shown that regenerators based on soliton filtering or on saturation of FWM interaction induce less phase fluctuations than that based on spectrum broadening and slicing.
