Abstract

Carriers are challenged to reduce expenses while continuing to meet customer demand for increased bandwidth and new services. Integration of DWDM transport, SONET ADM, OEO switching, and OOO switching under a unified GMPLS control plane provides technical and economic advantages with a fully dynamic, multi-service network.
