Abstract

In the telecommunication world, Telecommunications Management Network (TMN) is a world wide accepted telecom model for network architecture. There are wide varieties of protocols available among the various layers of TMN. The growing complexity of networks and communication services requires the Element management Systems (EMSs) to handle a wide variety of network elements and to provide varied functionalities. Hence it is very important to compare the various protocols to find their limitations and merits on different planes. The information exchange between the layers should be efficient, fast and error free.
