Abstract

We have designed and fabricated movable shutter-type MEMS VOAs. The test results agree well with the theoretical model we developed based on Fresnel-Kirchoff scattering theory, with regards to attenuation curve, wavelength-dependent loss, and polarization-dependent loss.
