Highly Tunable Waveguides and Bends based on Graded Photonic Crystals

Abstract

We present a general concept of graded photonic crystals, whose changes in the lattice periodicity curve the light at the micrometer scale. As an example, we provide a design for frequency-selective tunable bending.
