Abstract
As a kind of ceramics materials, Al4O4C hardly any active functions have been found except for used as additive in carbon-containing refractories to improve oxidation resistance and thermal properties. Here, we developed a method to synthesize Al4O4C micro-nano needle and expose its potential application as photoelectric material. A single needle was excited using 325 nm light beam and cathode electron beam, displaying intense blue light emission behavior. The brightest region emerges at the thin end even micro beam of 325 nm laser was focused on the thick end, indicating the excellent waveguide ability and exposing its potential application for blue light convergence, that is to say, light emitting at one side could be focalized through medium waveguide and size variation is expected to be realized. Moreover, Raman spectra and band structures were obtained through ab initio calculation, which imply the emission light is from the band gap transition.
