Abstract
Photonic crystal ring resonator (PCRR) is the key apparatus of new type of opto-electrical equipment and it plays more and more important role in altra-compact integrated optical circuits in the future. The structure PCRR is triangular lattice of airholes The transmission spectra is simulated by using the two-dimensional finite difference time domain (2-D FDTD) method. It is found that different size of PCRR corresponding to different transmission loss, quality factor, free space spectra (FSR) and resonance depth. The performance of PCRR whose side length is even times of the crystal lattice constant is much better. So it should be considered first in the process of practical device designing.
