Abstract

We demonstrate a simple scheme for mid-infrared frequency comb generation from 3-5.5 μm utilizing intra-pulse difference frequency generation in periodically poled lithium niobate. Numerical modeling shows a route to few-cycle pulses centered at 4 µm.
