High Energy, High Compact Single Frequency Hundred Picoseconds Laser Based on Stimulated Brillouin Scattering Pulse Compression

Abstract

A compact hundred picoseconds laser was demonstrated based on stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) pulse compression. Maximum energy 420 mJ with compressed pulse width 430 ps was achieved, corresponding to peak power of ~1 GW.
