TGG ceramic-based Faraday isolator for high-energy pulsed lasers with kW average power

Abstract

A 35 dB Faraday isolator under kW-level laser radiation was demonstrated using a TGG ceramic with water cooling and compensation for thermally-induced depolarization. This isolator is scalable to large apertures for kJ pulse laser systems.
