High-gain amplification of directly-modulated, single-frequency, 2-µm source

Abstract

We report the first demonstration of a pulsed, mJ-level, 2-µm laser system based on high-gain amplification of directly-modulated, single-frequency, CW sources in a single, bulk Ho:YLF laser amplifier stage operating at up to 42-dB gain.
