Abstract

A single-photon source based on single CdSe quantum-dot fluorescence in a chiral-photonic-bandgap liquid-crystal host manifests itself in observed fluorescence antibunching. Single quantum-dot fluorescence imaging inside different types of organic photonic bandgap microcavities is also presented.
